Short story; TOP SHELF COMPANY AND STAFF. Details/thoughts; Getting any work done on your house is stressful, but even more so when it's structural or something as large/costly as a roof...and these days, seems like EVERY contractor is just out to c... harge as much as possible while giving as little as possible in return (and unfortunately, often also accompanied by disrespectful and/or unqualified employees doing the work), which also adds to the stress. My scenario also involved the insurance company which is a whole other level of "how am I going to get jobbed on this one?". BUT, from the beginning sales pitch (in which there was no annoying pressure) all the way through the final invoice, RoofGuard was VERY easy to work with and (I'm not a roofer but have been a carpenter, so take the following with grain of salt) seemed to do high quality work (and I was up on the roof with them for a good deal of time to watch how they were doing things). RoofGuard gave me an initial quote and stuck to it all the way through (even when the Insurance company denied some of RoofGuard's requests for additional reimbursement due to the Ins Adjuster leaving necessary work out of their Insurance estimate, RoofGuard did not try to pass that onto me, yet they still did that necessary work). RoofGuard handled all the Insurance work/communication that they were allowed to (some stuff had to be handled by me, but that was a requirement from the Ins Company) which was very nice b/c I'd probably be ready to pull a Mangione (and I'm not referring to Chuck) on an Insurance company if I had to deal with them and was getting any kind of unscrupulous pushback, which Insurance Companies are notorious for. RoofGuard got the work done on the promised schedule and I actually threw them some curveballs (ie; by asking it be scheduled for a day when I could be present but then having to adjust that schedule on my end) which they graciously accommodated. I obviously can't speak for everyone at RoofGuard and/or for how they might conduct business in other scenarios nor in the future, but the aforementioned was all true for me and my scenario. I worked with John Bayer for the initial consult and contact point throughout...very easy to work with and seemed very knowledgeable. I also spoke with the install foreman and several of their other install staff during the installation and all were very pleasant, amenable and respectful...and as far as I could tell, had appropriate skills and fantastic work ethic. They did a wonderful job, my roof looks so pretty. The rep (Eric) and I think he's the project manager (Paul) have been great about answering all my questions and have been there from the start including all the back and forth with insurance to getti... ng the roof on. And currently while we are waiting for the gutters! Lord knows I've had about a million questions and they've answered quickly and never let them go unanswered. It's nice to have my roof up to code and looking good. We are still waiting on the gutters but weather has not been in their favor lately and that's not fault of theirs. They have been professional and always informing me of the next step. The roof crew were professional, very quick for a complete tear off including decking, and they were friendly.
